LIGNITE COAL GRINDING PLANT "SCHWARZE PUMPE"

1.) HISTORY

The first contacts for the construction of a dry lignite coal grinding plant go back to January 1993. LOESCHE GmbH presented the grinding technology to the "Energiewerk Schwarze Pumpe AG" or ESPAG at that time.

In September 1993 LOESCHE GmbH received the first enquiry from the "Lausitzer Braunkohle AG" being the successor company of "ESPAG". During the tendering phase Dr. Gleisberg was the contact person for the adjudication of the grinding systems for lignite coal.

In the period from 1993 till receipt of the final enquiry for two lignite coal grinding plants in December 1996 a multitude of meetings took place between "LAUBAG" and LOESCHE GmbH.

The final tender preparation and submission took place at the end of February 1997.

2.) ORDER AND BASE DATA

LOESCHE GmbH received the order for the turnkey supply of a grinding plant consisting of two independent mills for the production of pulverized lignite from LAUBAG, Senftenberg, in July 1997. The LOESCHE partners for this order are:

  • Hoffmeier Industrieanlagen GmbH & Co. KG, 59071 Hamm
  • ABB Automatisierungsanlagen Cottbus GmbH, 03048 Cottbus
  • Walter-Bau AG, 02943 Boxberg.
The plant is to be erected in "Schwarze Pumpe" in Brandenburg.

The order consists of the complete engineering, including the submission of the authorization procedure, civil structures, steel structures, mechanicals, electricals. process instrumentation and control, erection and commissioning.

The complete plant is designed for a continuous throughput of 92 t/h. Each mill is, however, is designed for an output of 52 t/h. The guaranteed fineness of the

pulverized lignite is:

  •   max. 0,4 % > 0,5 min
  •   max. 8,0 % > 0,2 mm
  •  and 25 - 40 % R DIN mm

The power consumption of the plant is guaranteed at 16.4 kWh/t and the availability at minimum of 93 %.

4.) BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE TOTAL GRINDING PLANT

The grinding plants are supplied with lignite directly (without intermediate storage) by up to four dryers.

  • The LOESCHE mills LM 28.2 D with integrated classifiers grind, cool and classify the lignite coal in one process step.
  • The product leaves the mill via the classifier and is pneumatically transported to the bag filter and collected.
The pulverized lignite is discharged from the bag filter by screw conveyors and rotary valves. It is then fed directly to the pneumatic conveying system and transported via a 600 m long transport duct with diversion valves, to the two pulverized lignite silos. The plants are being built to comply with the latest safety and design regulations.

The patented LOESCHE process "Grinding, Cooling and Classifying" in one process step, without intermediate storage of the lignite coal, is the basis for the design of the grinding plants.
